A learning community
Concordia University Ann Arbor is a vibrant learning community with a mission to prepare students for service in the Church and world. One of the ways we realize this mission is by hosting speakers, conferences, performances, and educational events that are open to everyone. These events are designed to encourage our students and alumni to engage in important discussions with members of the community, and in so doing, we extend the learning community beyond the campus grounds to ignite meaningful action and impact lives.

Events for the community
Concordia is proud to host multiple well-established events that offer entertainment, fellowship, and notable speakers for the enjoyment of the community at large. Each year the following events collectively draw hundreds of community friends, alumni, and parents. Visit our Upcoming Events page for details on each event.
- Living Grace — All women are invited to join Concordia University Ann Arbor for an annual luncheon that features Christian women leaders who share their journeys during this inspirational and motivational event. The event takes place on the Ann Arbor campus.
- Veterans Day Celebration — Our Veterans Day Celebration began when faculty and staff came together to share the history of Veterans Day with CUAA students and the surrounding community to recognize those who had served our country. Now it has become so much more, with a day filled with several opportunities to honor our veterans and remember those who have served.
Academic outreach
Concordia’s mission of service to the community extends to faculty and staff as well. Professors from each of Concordia’s six academic schools offer up their time and talents to offer up resources for the community or address concerns facing them through a variety of initiatives. Christian outreach
At Concordia, serving the community isn’t a side activity that some people do; it’s a Concordia way of life that drives our students, faculty, staff, and alumni every day. Visit our Serving the Community page to learn more about how Concordians are getting involved in the community by serving.
High school outreach
Each year, up to six Uncommon Awards will be given to support staff, teaching faculty, and school administrators in Lutheran high schools whose uncommon service, excellence, and dedication make an uncommon difference in the lives of others. Nominate someone today!
